SESSION

A Session is a unit of play where the Master and Players gather to enjoy TRPGs or web-based chat interactions.It represents one chapter of the story and usually lasts for several hours. A single session may correspond to one adventure or episode.

The XIO Dice Chat session runs directly in modern web browsers without any installation. Simply access the session via the provided URL.We are also planning to develop PC and mobile applications to support voice and video chat in the future. For now, sessions are accessible via the web, and while not officially supported, they can also be run on modern mobile browsers.

If the Master shares the Session ID with you, you can directly enter the chat room where the session is taking place.The Session ID serves as an invitation, so even for private chat sessions, no additional password is required. However, since the Session ID is only visible to the Master, please ensure it is not disclosed if you wish to keep the session private.

If you know the Master’s member ID, you can search for currently open sessions.Private sessions, however, will not appear in the list and can only be joined via the Master’s invitation. For secret chat sessions, you must enter the session password to gain access.

The member who creates a session automatically receives the Master role and begins the session.The Master may transfer their role to another Player or Guest during the session. There must always be exactly one Master in each session. If the Master leaves the chat room, another Player will inherit the role. Multiple Masters cannot exist simultaneously.Only registered and logged-in members of XIO can create sessions.

When you join a session, you enter as a Guest by default. You can become a Player once the Master grants you the role.Guests cannot take part in the gameplay but may spectate the session and chat privately with the Master.

Yes, even non-members can join sessions as Guests or Players.If the Master transfers their authority, a non-member can also inherit the Master role.However, non-members cannot create repositories or open sessions, and they do not have access to member-exclusive features. Other than that, they are free to participate in ongoing sessions.
